ABOUT
Hello!
My name is Madison Smith and I am a 3 times WB Animation Intern with excellent Linkedin recommendations of my work from my WB Supervisors and recent UMASS Amherst graduate with a BFA in Studio Arts: Animation focus.
Several aspects of my experience are especially relevant. As a Warner Bros. Animation Intern Summer 2021, 2020 and Summer 2019, I gained knowledge, training and exposure to all aspects of the animation studio environment and production pipeline. As a Summer 2021 intern for the Animaniacs Season 3 team, I created professionally approved character design for use in final production, script breakdown and various production related tasks. As a Summer 2020 intern working with WB Line Producer Danielle Witz for the Gremlins: Secrets of The Mogwai animated series team, I created professionally approved character design and background linework for use in final production. I received excellent
written reviews of my work on LinkedIn from my Supervisors, WB Line Producer Danielle Witz and Animaniacs Emmy Award-winning Producer Joann Estoesta (Madison Smith | LinkedIn). As a Summer 2019 intern working with WB Line Producer Alyessa Ornelas, I served as Prop Designer on Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of The Realms animated movie, and DC shorts. Overall, I was mentored by the WB production teams and furthered my skills in production, design, storyboards, digital clean up, color and more while completing other tasks related to various facets of the business.
After graduating, I was a Screening Committee Member for The New York International Children's Film Festival, where I reviewed and evaluated nearly 70 of the best new films from around the world (animation, live action, experimental and documentary shorts and feature films) for inclusion in the prestigious Oscar®-qualifying NYICFF Festival and national touring program. I currently work as a Production Assistant for iWomantv, where I work with the team behind the scenes to produce segments, forward channel initiatives, and collaborate with artistic talent, directors, and producers. I also work at the Perelman Performing Arts Center, where I deliver a best-in-class experience to all PAC NYC visitors, process ticket sales via Zendesk over the phone and in person for performances, ensuring all customers receive a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Additionally, I have over 5 years relevant experience creating animated films and taught Animation to my fellow students during high school as Founder and President of the school’s first Animation Club. I am a Member of ACM SIGGRAPH and Women in Animation (WIA). I was also honored as a Young Emerging Filmmaker by the Tribeca Film Festival where my short films were selected to be screened before a live audience for two years in a row. These experiences, along with the major WB releases I helped produce over the years, has made me trained in utilizing various programs that may prove useful
as a 2D Animation Apprentice including Shotgrid/Shotgun, ToonBoom, Adobe, Maya, Katana, C++, HTML, MSOffice, Photoshop and more.
Would you like to meet to further discuss my candidacy? It would be a dream come true to contribute to and learn from the industry’s best. I believe my lifelong passion for animation, creative ability, significant production experience, strong work ethic, attention to detail, leadership skills and ability to build team consensus would be an asset to your team as your Junior Artist.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Madison
